One of my Favourite Warriors

Recently I'm crazy about drawing this person...

Some people may notice a part of this picture...yes, I'm using "his" face as my avatar (although I'm a woman!!). He is one of my favourite warriors Hanbei Takenaka (1544-1579) and famous as a staff officer of Hideyoshi Toyotomi. In my Japanese blog I'm introducing pictures I drew based on a story "Taikouki" which tells about Hideyoshi Toyotomi. If you want to know about this story please check Wikipedia. There are several versions of the story and I think there is an English version of "Shinsyo Taikouki" written by Eiji Yoshikawa. I want to get the English version of it to compare both versions, but I haven't been able to find the English version...
Well, see you next time.

The season of cherry blossoms

It's the season of cherry blossoms viewing here. There are some good places to enjoy them near my house, but I don't know if I go somewhere to do it...
Arashiyama in Kyoto is one of the most famous places for cherry blossoms (and perhaps autumn-tinted mountains) and there is a Noh story "Arashiyama" based on the history of cherry trees around there. This time I'll introduce the picture I drew based on the story.

The man on the right is Zao-Gongen (Gongen in an avatar of Buddha) and a main character of the story (it's called Shite in Noh).
If you can read Japanese, I've got another blog, so please visit there as well. Well, see you next time.
